You have the yellow wire switched. You were NOT supposed to hook up the yellow wire to the equivalent of the red wire. Since it's a 2001, I think that one didn't have to be switched to the ignition lock the way the 2002's and up do. That might be why.

I hooked the yellow to factory constant. The red wire was hooked up directly to the ignition wire. So not sure why his settings wont save and why his remote lock for his car wont work lol.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the switched positive and constant positive are backwards. I know in the first post you specified which was what, but maybe the instructions are wrong (or were read wrong). I don't know how that could affect the locks though. I would check the positives first. Keep us posted
