I have seen a few aftermarket DD's and personally I think they're kinda ugly. I been looking at stereo stuff last week cause of my rear 6x9s. Then again it's all about personal taste. I like the stock look myself but many people prefer aftermarket.

Hey,

LOL whatever it's called freedom of speech as far as I know we still live in a democratic society. The first one sticks out like half an inch and the second one just looks wierd because it's not flush. I said no offense and gave my personal opinion on the install......no need for personal attacks there hun.

Even with it missing a trim piece or sticking out a little, still beats the hell out of the ugly stock radio.

ryan, it does look like shit. its sticking out like 3/16ths of an inch

i'll update this one in a bit with a pic of mine.... (single din)

Update:

also, ryan, whats soo good about those? for that kinda price, it better cook me meals and keep the whole interior spotless. (doesn't look like it has lcd/navigation/etc fancy features of other high price point headunits) besides looking old fashioned, which i don't care for at all.

Thats the 406... Thats not 1/4 the head unit the 4000 is...

The 4000 strangely enough run about $3200-$4K+ depending on the shop and if they wanted to deal. Oh ya, and that price was in 1996. Adjust for inflation... Were talking about a $6K+ CD deck.

And my friends... If you ever have a chance at a 4000 combo and you have some interest, do NOT hesitate.
