Fuel Pressure Problem...Help

ok...car won't start....it turns over no problem and I have good spark....and I can hear the fuel pump turning on. I checked the fuel pressure port by pressing it in with a screwdriver and no fuel is coming out....isn't there suppose to be fuel coming out of that port if you press in the valve? I changed the fuel filter last summer so it should be good...I have new plugs and new wires...

Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? at this point I'm thinking fuel system problem. any ideas where to start checking?

sounds like your fuel lines are plugged somewhere.

yes, if you push the plug in the fuel port (schrader valve) in, with the car "on"(pump primed) fuel should come out.

Fuel pump sock is clogged or something like that probably. Disconnect the feed line and prime it, see if fuel goes shooting everywhere or even at all.

Ok....so I did a bit more checking...I took the fuel filter off and turned the key on to see if fuel came out.....it did but very little...so I'm thinking that the fuel pump is bad...can anyone tell me if a fuel pump can be bad but still turn on? I've had bad fuel pumps before but when they went bad they didn't even turn on....anyways dropped the tank and took the fuel pump out looks good but what do I know...I'll try a fuel pump and see what happens.

In the mean time if anyone has ever had a fuel pump turn on but still be bad please post your comments.

Just need to check. You had enough gas in the car right?

Did you have a check engine light lit by chance before this happened?

Could be shot internally. Check to see how many amps it draws.. should be 4-6 I'm pretty sure. Also make sure that when it runs on car that it's getting full system voltage, and not partial due to corrosion or something.
