The 5-speed from the '00-'02 2.2 OHV (non-ecotec) cavalier/sunfire will bolt onto the 3400.

It really wouldn't be that hard to make a 5-speed 3400. None of the 3400 owners have enough ambition to do it.

I would totally do that.... if I had a 4 banger, enough money to get a 3400 and do the swap... that would be fairly simple that way because you don't have to go through all the shit of converting an auto to manuel.... all it would be is swapping the engine and sending over the engine programming from one pcm to another.

Other way around however... putting a manny in an auto v6.... way too much work involved, you have to practically gut the car to put everything in.... and your not even assured it'll work in the end either

that's what i was talking about, the auto to manual conversion. I've helped with a few of those swaps. They were originally 3100s too, and also more involved (required welding in new mounts, etc..)
