what other car models swap with the shifter knob on my auto trans 2000 alero.

the stock knob from the Alero is only for the Alero (99-04) or Grand Am (1999-2005)

i saw one on ebay ill try and find it and edit this post, it was for a manual shifter and it was a silver nob with the olds name and symbol on the top in white, the new symbol, ill look for it.

those look like they're for manual trans. For auto on our cars, you need the button (for safety, anyways)

It looks good, but the lack of a button may be an inconvenience to you. If the knob doesn't have a button, I think you have to pull the whole knob down when you're going to change gears rather than just push a button.

Most GM shift knobs interchange between the models though...

yea i know about how u have to push the lever down. so you can still use these you just have to be careful.

sorry should have been more clear i was wanting to know what stock knobs from other model cars would swap for the alero one,my button broke on the side and I was hoping to find one in a yard but it seems they get crushed fast around here.

Thats' weird. Do you have to lift the button up?
I've never even seen an autotragic solstice. Though you'd probably be better off using the whole boot...

yes. the button pushes up and in, in order to shift it. its awesome. THATS the kind i'm looking for.
even if i have to keep the boot... thats fine by me. but i don't want to pay that much to find out it wont adapt.
