A lot of people do a 40 series flowmaster with some custom piping at a local shop. I have the GAGT borla system and love it but, it is a little over $700 for it. With that said the best idea is what I said first go custom.

P.S. Your brothers friend might know the F-body well but, not the N-body so, tell him to get his head out his rear.

A diehard V8 guy will think anything that doesn't have the typical V8 rumble will sound ricey. For your exhaust, go with 2.5" piping from the header back with a high flow cat, a long resonator and straight through muffler, like a Magnaflow. Not only will it sound good, and not like a high pitched Honda, it will give you a nice little bump in power.

Depends on where you can get the piping fabricated.

i have a 2.5" magnaflow cat-back and it all costed me about $375.00 to get it all installed and it sounds damn good, though i do have the 3.4l ive heard them on a 2.4 and its not far off from mine.

look for some sound clips and see for yourself. and that guy he needs stop licking his nuts for 30 secs and be more open minded about cars with smaller engines.......god i hate ppl like that, "if its not big, its crap", attitude have zero imagination!! thats just me though

Not on the quad. It has been dyno proven that a high flow cat only adds 1hp.

Well the high flow cat is going to flow better than stock, plus it'll have the inlet and outlet diameter of the rest of the exhaust. So you start at the header, stock or aftermarket, and use a 2.5" downpipe, into the 2.5" high flow cat, into the 2.5" cat-back piping. Then you can add an aftermarket header afterwords (if you dont already have one) and the exhaust will be done already. It'll flow better than the stock 2" downpipe going into a 2.5" cat-back.

Not that I'm doubting you, but where have you seen that? I know it's been proven that a straight pipe without a cat will only make 1 more HP than a high flow cat, but I've never seen a high flow cat make only 1 more HP than a stock cat.

It's been a while since I have seen it but, if you really want to see it ask Oldsman.

Flowmaster makes a sport compact muffler, the 60 series.

My V6 Alero is louder and deeper than my Delta with a Olds 350 and dual Super 40's
