Thumbs up

2001 Alero GLS

I want some bottem-end to my sound.

I have the amp and can get everyting else I need. What I need to know is where to pass the power lead, from the battery, thru the firewall and into the cabin. If you have a better suggestion other than the forewall pass-thru, I am open for anything! Also, a good place for the bodyground wire would help, too!

the best place we've all done is through a grommet in the firewall. you have to peal back the carpeting behind your pedals. its straight back from the brake, and to the left some. a big white latex-y grommet.

poke a hole through that a stick your wire through.

good luck!

Depends on what gauge you're running too - I had to drill a new hole when I ran 0/1 gauge. Not really a big deal - grabbed a drill, spun a hole in there and stuck in a grommet I bought at home depot - took about 30 seconds. As far as the ground - just find a place that's fairly thick metal that doesn't have anything you'll rip apart drilling through - drill the hole, sand the paint off down to the metal around it and you're done.

Cheers,
Collin

Most people prolly wouldnt recomend this, but i had a low gauge wire and it was to huge to get through the firewall.

I drilled a hole into my wheel well close to the driverside floorboard, ran the wire through and down the side of my car under the plastic floor panels by the doors into my trunk.

I havent had any problems with leaks or anything cuz there is that plastic guard over it, plus i put in some silicone.

just an idea
