Alarm light

today i bought an alarm scanner light by streetglow and i can't get it to work the way it should. on the scanner yellow is (+), black is (-), and the blue one goes to the (-) wire on the LED output thats on my existing alarm(black widow). the problem is that doesn't work when it's hooked up that way(which they show in the diagram). i hooked up the (+) from scanner to alarm and same with the (-) it doesn't work the way it's supposed to. when i arm it the scanner doesn't work because you have to push the little button on it and it's not getting enough power because there is a transformer in it for the original LED. I think i'm just going to return it because i'm VERY pissed off and f@#k it.
