ditto. I think it would look awesome to have some massive calipers on there that read corvette.

I opted to get the calipers without the lettering. It wasn't really going to fit in with the style i was going for. Also, I don't really want my Olds to say "Corvette". When I do a similar brake upgrade to my Chevy, then I'll us the real Corvette ones.

okay, sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead but it's not really necessary to open a whole new one

so everything i'd need if i want to do the corvette brake upgrade is

1. 97-04 Corvette or XLR Calipers
2. 98-02 Camaro or Firebird Caliper Brackets
3. 98-02 Camaro Impala or Firebird Brake Pads
4. 98-02 Camaro Firebird or Impala Rotors

and it would cost a total of around how much?

The calipers can actually be 97-current

The pads are from the 98-02 Camaro or firebird ONLY

The rotors are 99-02 Camaro/Firebird or '00-'05 Impala or Monte Carlo (also tons of other cars used them like Auroras, Intrigues, Buicks, Cadillacs etc..)

C6 and XLR calipers are identical aside from the logo, C5 ones are slightly different.

I believe you can use the F-Body calipers if you want your stock wheels to fit. Then again, that's no guarantee.

There's also the option of using the 12" rotor and then using the bracket and single piston cast-iron caliper from the Impala/monte. Requires drilling the holes in the knuckle to 14mm and a new banjo bolt for the caliper, but other than that it's the same installation.

Do you mean new Banjo bolt as compared to the original Alero bolt? My calipers came with the bolts (used).
I didn't have a 14mm drill bit (had a brain fart and forgot my bits only went to 1/2" (approx 13mm), so I used a die grinder with a straight cut bit and a file to open the holes.
I really wish I could have found the calpier mounts back then and wouldn't need to drill out the holes.

Maybe not as tall as a C5, but they're IDENTICAL to a C6.

Yeah, the cast iron calipers have a more coarse thread on the banjo bolt.
