well i traded in my s10 to get the alero
2004 white 2dr 2.2l with 8000 miles automatic
its going to be my winter beater until i start in on the mods.
as it is i got to many toys already.
2003 chevy 1500 z71
2002 yamaha road star warrior (102 ci)
i never really worked with a 4cyl just v6 or a v8
or a v-twin.
but i got a few ?
1.how do i find out what tranny i have (i did a quick search no luck)
2.has a lot of people put on a turbo or supercharger and will the motor hold up to it
3.exhaust do most people buy a cat back or have one made.
4. cold air intake (k&n) or is there better.
thanks for the advice

Welcome to the site Dustin. I'm not sure that I understand your first question... but to answer your second question, I do know of one person on here that has put a S/C on his car.. his name is S/C Alero.. I think. Exhaust, it all depends on your prefrence. What you want it to sound like, performance, money and all that. A lot of the people on here have either SLP, Borla, Flowmasters, Magnaflow, or Dynomax. Intake, I think the majority of people here will tell you to get the Induction Dynamics CAI. Hope this helps.

Oh ok.. Then you have a 2.2L Ecotec. There's a section on here for specific questions about each trannys.

the reason im asking is because i what to get the AutoTrans Interceptor but it said it will only work on the 4T45e transmission.and i need to know if i got that transmission or not.but i think the 4t45e is the v6 not the 2.2 ecotech.
please correct me,

the b&m works for the 4 cyl also. the 4T45e is the v6. you have the 4T40. the b&m performs just as well or better than the auto trans interceptor, and is WAY cheaper.
either way the b&m shiftplus #70380 works. inquire here....

welcome to the family
1. 4t40
2. GM offers a S/C for the eco. nobody on here has done either on the eco but there are several turbo kits out there.
3. most people do cat back. but since you have a 4cyl do not go with SLP unless you use a different muffler. the SLP muffler sounds like crap on the 4's
4. CAI is the best and that would be Induction dynamics who offer the onlu true CAI for the eco.
