Lately when it is really cold out, my fuel gauge won't work. I know that it has been said that certain fuels (Sunoco, I think) can mess with the fuel gauge.

Once it warms up a little, or my car warms up, it will work when I start the car, but I could be driving for hours, and if it didn't work when I started the car, it won't just working while driving. It has to be started again. Any ideas?

do you have aftermarket gauges on? If so, you might have put the needles back on ever so too tightly. My temp gauge acts this way sometimes too.

I have the halo's but I haven't done anything to the needles. Could be that the overlay is hitting the base of the needle when it gets too cold - contracts just enough to hit it. It didn't do it last winter, and I didn't have the gauges then. I'll just watch it and see what happens. Thanks Nick!
