Type in 12363220 for the part # search in upper left corner of page

CLICK NOW!

Am I seeing things clearly?! 3.4L performance camshaft for $90 from GM? It sounds too good to be true which probably means it is. But maybe I just found a badass deal. Anyone familiar?!?!

GM PART # 12363220
CATEGORY: Engine Camshaft
PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $127.58
OUR PRICE: $89.31
DESCRIPTION: 3.4L CAMSHAFT
This performance flat tappet hydraulic camshaft is used in the new 3.4-liter engine conversion package (P/N 12363230) and is also applicable to 2.8-liter and 3.1-liter engines. Designed to increase mid-range torque and horsepower, this camshaft is ideal for daily performance usage. The duration at .050" lift (intake/exhaust) is 204º/216º, while the valve lift is .427"/.454". The basic RPM range is 1500-4500, and the lobe separation is 107º. If you look up the part number listed in the description you get this.

GM PART # 12363230
CATEGORY: All
PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $2,535.72
OUR PRICE: $1,775.00
DESCRIPTION: 3.4L ENGINE

HT 3.4
160 Horse Power

Tired of that tired 2.8 V-6 in your S-truck ? It's time for a major upgrade, GM Performance Parts style. The HT 3.4 is a bolt in replacement for the 2.8 V6 in your 1982 - 1985 pickup or Blazer. And it's emission legal in 49 states (Yes, you guessed it, California said no.) But for the rest of us, the HT 3.4 is the best thing going. With 160 horsepower and 194 Ft. Lbs. of torque your truck will feel better than new, and tow better than ever. The heads have large 1.72" intake and 1.42" exhaust valves and combustion chambers that yield a healthy 9 to 1 compression ratio. The camshaft is a high lift, short duration design, developed to produce lots of strong low end torque and mid range horsepower. With .427" intake and .454" exhaust lift, the cam ensures a strong pull to 5000 RPM. Doesn't sound like your 2.8 V6 at all, does it? It isn't, when GM Performance Parts develops an engine we focus on making power. But not power for the sake of power, but power where you need it. For great drivability, towing performance and maybe even a little off road fun. The HT 3.4L, a serious upgrade for your favorite little truck. With 40 more horsepower than your 2.8 V6, why would you even consider rebuilding that old 2.8? The induction system, ignition system, exhaust, emission controls, water pump and other parts required to bolt in your new HT 3.4 are already on your truck. Sounds like a weekend project.

There are cams now available for our engine.

Cammotion has them and can make them to your specs. This is not a regrind.

If you want to buy one with preset specs try

http://www.milzymotorsports.com/

Personally I wait maybe a month if you really want one. Let others be the guinie pigs.

If you want to read the whole saga see
http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41248
http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43390

Probably easier just to read the last couple pages of those threads.

He's just sayin that 3.4L does not equal 3400. Two different engines, alero's have the 3400

ok, how about this one:

14031378 High Output Camshaft
This flat tappet hydraulic cam is used in high-performance X-11 and fuel-injected V6/60º engines. It has .394" intake lift and .410" exhaust lift. The intake duration is 2760 at the lash point and 1960 at .050" from the base circle. The exhaust duration is 2930 at the lash point and 2030 at .050" from the base circle.

Sounds like a smokin cam if it works.

24507450 2000-2002
12567117 2003-2004

and on the gmpartsdirect performance section...

This Gen III Roller lifter design camshaft features 6000 rpm operation (spring installed at 1.66") with a power peak at 5200 rpm. It features a cast iron distributor drive gear for improved durability.

ive bought it and used it on my old 3100.

there are no other cams from GM besides stock ones.

All the other cams listed don't have the reluctor for the camshaft position sensor so they won't work.
