It looks like I will be trading in my Eclipse 8454 Head Unit. The new 2005's have two cool features. Downloadable GPS and HD radio capability. They even upgraded the parametric eq to 10 bands.
CD, CD-R/RW, WMA and MP3 compatibility
Circle Surround II (pro mode off)
E-iSERV connectivity (download and upload custom settings )
Area Shot (basic map, arrow and text)
GPS unit-ready (download basic directions from the net or use a add on GPS unit.
Motion Picture
Advanced 2-mode Sound Control DSP:
Parametric EQ 10 band (pro mode on) 7 band (pro mode off)
Multi-Harmonizer
Time Alignment
Crossover
Listening Position Selector
Source Volume Control
Memory Stick-ready for recording/playback (ATRAC3)
All digital circuitry with advanced 24-bit D/A converter
High 8V preamp output with low 55 impedance B) still the lowest distortion
HD Radio-ready
SIRIUS Satellite Radio-ready  it is about time
FM/AM tuner
MOSFET power amplification
8-step full dot VF display I still love these displays.
5-pattern illumination
MS or CD ESN security
Digital input
3 prs. pre outputs
Aux input
Remote control

The HD tuner and sirius. I was surprised to see that the top two units have station name as well. It is about time they put that in aftermarket HU's.

I don't think they look as good as previous years. There still badass head unit though. They're just so damn expensive.

I compleately agree about the looks. 2004's have a much cleaner look than the 2005's. As for price, not realy. A high end retails for 649. You can still get the low end with 5 volts but no sub out for 179.

Are you going to sell the 8454 you have now? How much would you be looking to get for it if you were to sell it?

I have that head unit in my car right now. I love it. The 8v preout is amazing. I hit a 146.3 in the dash with two 12" memphis m3's and one 1000 watt memphis amp. Before I put the head unit in i was hitting a 144.xx - 145.1x. It also looks great and the features are good. Gotta love being able to toss a memory stick in it!

I think he works for eclipse. He don't have to go through a dealer.

Ah if he works for eclipse then he prolly got a better deal than I did. We are factory direct, and I am very happy with my cost lol.

LOL Yeah if I could hook everyone up I would. But I think we would lose our license for eclipse if I did that :P

Here are the pics of it in my car. ...its not scratched up (only 2 weeks old) but the pics make it look like that...

Here are my subs I can hit a 146.2 with...so far but I should be able to squeeze a few more tenths, maybe 1/2 a decibal out of doing a few more things to my car...possibly even a whole DB. Just two 12" memphis m3's and 1 1000 watt memphis amp.

Oh and this is not even close to final...the reason it looks so poopty is because I havent done the fiberglass to the face of the box yet. I am sealing the face of the box up so that no air passes through the sides or on top or bottom and into the trunk. It causes the pressure to also be behind the sub box...which also can cause rattles in the trunk and a loss of DB....just will take a bit of time and work!

wtf? My buttons dont light up like the one in the pic. They never have. When I go to my settings for color and change it to like Amber/blue or red/blue or whatever, it will just do the one solid color but the other color never lights up (nubmer buttons ect.) Check the pic out in the dark.

???????????????????????

I'm confused to what you are trying to say? You but "BUT with 1 15" sounding like I did ok...but you are louder? Oh and if you are kinda new to spl, there is a huge sound difference in a 130, and a 146. No offense, but a 130 is terrible...and that frequency...I dont see how its possible to have a sealed box @ 25hz. At that frequency there probably arent many songs that sound good. I used to have 3 10's tuned at 30-35hz and they sounded terrible with rock music, and with almost any rap cd. Even a lot of little john songs sounded bad. I have my two twelves in a big ported box, tuned at 45hz and I have a big port. Sealed boxes are almost always a higher frequency than ported.
