According to my Alero's records, original fuel pump went out at 67,440 miles, but was replaced under warranty, so I don't have a full cost for the repair...

The $488.73 is not quite double retail for an OEM type from NAPA,

$280.00 on labor seems about right.

That one would be of a lesser quality than the Bosch or Carter.

But even the New Delphis (and I believe the new AC Delco) are not as good as the originals that came with the car.

I got one from Autozone and paid the high price, but it failed within a week due to other factors than the pump. I got a refund from Autozone, no questions asked, just took it down the street back to them.

The canister asembly/pump is something I like to see before I buy, or at least know exactly what the brand is. I would ask the seller what brand, if it is Airtex or Delphi, AC Delco, that would be a good price. Still, I like the idea of easy warranty exchange.

AC DELCO # MU1253 / MU1374

GM # 88966970 / 88967294

AIRTEX # E3507M

DELPHI # FG0375

CARTER # P74831M

BOSCH # 67475

They better have replaced it, that's standard practice. I would ask them if they did. At the price you paid, you should never have to mess with it again.
