Cost/Shipping: Special prototype testing price

Store service, contact, delivery, problems, props: Springs had the kit shipped out the day he got it in stock. Shipping took about 2 weeks but that was because it got held up at customs.

Initial product impressions, quality: It's a good looking kit. The shifter is billet aluminum and very solidly built. A new shift knob is included as well.

Instructions, good, bad, none, etc: Instructions are written for a Cavalier or Sunfire and only sort of apply. They are also vague in some critical points.

Installation notes, easy, hard, PITA: Installation was not too hard. I didn't remove the entire center console, but doing so would definately make it easier.

If not self installed, cost of installation: Self installed. Took about 4 hours, while taking pictures.

Performance, appearance opinions: It looks great after installation, shortens shifter throw considerably.

Any other thoughts about the product: Solid aluminum shift knob gets REALLY cold in the winter, I may end up either heating it or getting a new knob.

They look identical.

This is the one for the cavalier, it's just never been tested in an alero is all.

outta curiosuity why do you have to cut off the old shift knob?
Because the snap ring is too small and won't fit around the old shift knob when you are trying to take it off. I suppose you could go scavenge up a new snap ring and you wouldn't need to cut off the shift knob.
