Car running rough!

Hey guys,

well, heres my very first problem with my car......took long enough for something to go wrong (3 years!! )

what shes doing is when i press on the gas to accelerate her, shes driving really sluggish, it almost feels like the car is "jerking" when accelerating, both high and low speeds. This just started last night and i dont recall doing anything that could have caused it (maybe hitting the gas a little hard while merging but nothing serious).

Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated guys!!!

Thanx in advance!!!

franks probably right
but on my alero (never did figure it out for sure) the dealership said it was either the torque converter or the transmission itself

but i did have that issue before, one time it was bad fuel... one time it was fuel filter... so i'd do fuel filter, next time you fill up do a tank of premium, and throw some fuel injector cleaner... i always like to start with the cheap fixes first

I still stick to what I originally said. It's just good maintenance and you'll probably have to do it anyways.

AGT is probably right about the torque converter.

could be bad gas if no lights are on, if a sensor was bad then your SES light would be on, try filling up premium next time and see if that helps

ok, so as you guys said, its something very minor!!

looks like i just hit a really shitty spot in the gas tank, i ran her close to empty, filled her up with 91 oct. and the rest of my fuel cleaning solution and shes running just fine, but i will let you guys know if anything else comes up in the next week or so

Fuel filter isn't that expensive anyway. Could try that if it happens again. It already happened to me before. got some gas sowhere i never tanked and got some trouble starting the car up for the hole tank and also some hesitation. (Even if it was a Petro-Canada)
