Fuel Pump Whine?

I've noticed that my fuel pump is much louder than other cars, its like a high pitched whine. its louder than the stock exaust and you can hear it insde with the backseat dropped. I am getting the filter changed out this week, so I'll see if it changes at all. but I was wondering if anyone else can hear theirs as well.
