I've seen lots of people on here with engine loom, but never any info about it. First of all, what brand names are there and where can I get some? Most importantly how much do I need and what/how many sizes do I need? Any info, links and random insults/flames are welcome.

I bought my kit from Summit racing for $14. It has the whole assortment of sizes. I think it may be 10 foot of each size, but I don't remember. It's more than enough to do the Alero. I used one pack on my cutlass and alero. I know they have red, black, blue, and yellow for sure. Maybe other colors as well. HTH some!

i just had a nice suprise with my loom. all my loom around my throttle body and intake got so brittle it all flakes off basically. im guessing its from being close to very hot surfaces and it bakes itself brittle after an extended period of time.
any i got the loom from summit too so it wasnt "crappy" loom
dont bother imo

Any standard loom near a hot surface over a long time will become the quite brittle like 2sweet said and it when it does it might be a female dog to clean out of your engine bay.
I was gonna get some, but now I dont want to bother.

Aleros come with stock black loom, so as long as you don't put loom where there wasn't any before you should be good. And the stock stuff is just ordinary plastic, not super heat resistant I don't think. I ordered some and i can install it in spring!

I prefer the silicon tubing IMO. It lasts for, well, a really long time. Looks better and is easy to clean as well.

Btw I noticed that summit racing had an APC bodykit for the Alero. It didn't have a pic or anything but it was about $700. I've never heard of it before, maybe it was a mistake or they meant that other 3 letter company?

I searched for "APC Alero Bodykit" on froogle, and all I got was the summit link you're talking about. Judging by the price, I think it's just the razzi kit. that thing has gotten re-branded a bunch of times. Erebuni is another brand that I can think of right now that sells the razzi.
