I'm looking at relocating my deck down at kinda of an angle in the area where the cig lighter is and that lil cubby hole area. I was wondering if anyone has done this already and could give me some advise. Things I'm look for are tools used materials ect. I know I'm going to have to fiberglass and make a frame. I was looking at using some mdf board for a new frame to secure the deck. If anyone has done it or has some advise please share. I'm going to take pics and start here in about 2 weeks

I thought about it but realized that it would be too much of a PITA with my car being a manual and all. But yeah it could look good if done right. and yeah Make sure the angle is at 45 degrees or less or the deck might not work.
just my 2 cents.

Yea I know what i'm doing my friend and I both do fiberglassing just nothing this big before where I actually had to make a frame and craft new center. I was just seeing if anyone had some pics or advise on how it went and what trouble they ran into. i'm buying the stuff here in 2 weeks on payday. I to have a manual but i'm also getting a short shifter to give me more room. I guess if no one has done it I will be the first maybe.. I'll make sure to post pics and write down what I can. it actually ddoesn't look to bad right now the worst being the new mount and frame work and cutting the wood thats new to us kinda.

AleroHawk thats awsome that's what i'm looking at doing with a smaller screen 7" but i'm going to fiberglass in where the lil din part is and take out the cup holder since i don't us it. wrightie thats awsome too ive seen ur work before to awsome especially the relocate on the hvac stuff how hard was that btw? I might even do that if it isnt to bad. That way I can have my deck and screen close. I'm pretty sure you can get a short shifter from b&m same as it is for the cavalier and sunfire. I have a manual btw! I took all the measurements today and started to take it apart so work will begin next week.

I don't want to seem like a total n00b but what do you guys actually use the screen for? Movies? Navigation?
The ones in the posted pictures look really nice by the way

wrightie gets my vote. He did a realy nice job of making the entire piece look natural. The HU under the AC just looks out of place.
StackS 757, if you need a small dvd player then look into eclpse external unit. It is literaly the smallest dvd player available for a car. Very close to the size of a laptop cd deck and uses rf singals so the remote doesn't need to be pointed at it.
