changing my oil
Well I have changed my oil before but it has been a long time. I just got fed up with paying $30 for an oil change when I can do it for $15. My problem is that when I got under the car to take the oil screw out that I couldn't get it off. It was on really tight and I had one of those wrenches that has the switch on it to tighten and loosen bolts (sorry don't know the proper name for it). I know its the right screw b/c its the only screw that sticks out pointing towards the back of the car that is under the engine. Any thoughts on how to get that damn screw off and that it is the right screw (it's under the engine in the back of a black pan)..... Thanks guys!!

Have a guy do it.
j/k
I would say get some WD40 or similar and if that doesn't work put the rachet on the bolt and tap it lightly with a hammer but make sure your socket fit snug on the bolt.

They probably used a nuematic screw and went to town on it..so it is probably considerably tighter then u or i could get it...Use leverage get a longer handle and push harder (or get neumatic tools)

First make sure your turning it the right way (clockwise=tightening, counterclockwise= loosening), and then try and find like a 6 inch. pipe that fits over the end of your ratchet for additional leverage. If that doesn't work find someone stronger or that weighs more.

I'm sure by now you got it... but someone once told me... "righty tighty, lefty loosey" ... like i was an idiot and couldn't figure it out... My response was... Is it "right" from above the engine, or "right" from under the engine... And thats where i lost them. I had the same problem w/ mine the first time. apparently the dealer used an air socket to put it on, cuz the mech who finally did it, was swinging away at with with hammer for a couple minutes before it moved.

not sure if you could get a breaker bar on the end of the ratchet to crack the seal, since the bolt is under the car, but hers isnt lowered so maybe you could

15 mm box wrench. Make sure you use a closed wrench!!!!
Don't use a rachet socket combo. I don't like them to change the oil. The postion that you are in seems like your putting too much downward pressure on the plug's head. I was always afraid I was going to snap it off
It will move, just turn it towards the pass side of the car
edit: thinking about it, it could be a 14mm wrench. The Altima uses one, and the GM cars use another, and I get them confused. Since I change her oil 3 times vs 1 oil change in the Alero

ok i'll try it. I know righty-tighty lefty-loosey! But I put all the tools away so I'll try again tomorrow. I just took a shower so I'm not all greasy anymore from laying in my driveway. So I'll let everyone know tomorrow how it went.

My bolt is stripped from lettin dumbasses change my oil, so since I cant get a wrench to get it off I use a pair of vice grips, works fine with me

this reminds me that i need a bigger jack. i changed the oil in the gagt on sunday using my little 2 ton jack which barely got the car high enough for my big ass to get under there. the bolt was a little stuck and all i did was use my hand to smack the ratchet. im a beast though so that might not work for you
