How many miles do you have? If it's over 60,000, I'm sorry, but you're SOL.
If it's under 60,000, take it to the dealer first, preferably one you've dealt with a lot. Ask them really nice to split the cost with you and their goodwill money. Tell them you know it's a really common problem, and you personally know several people who've gotten it paid for. If that doesn't work, call 1-800-442-OLDS. Tell them your problem, and that you'd like help paying for it, if possible. They'll only give it to you if you've had your car serviced at the dealer a lot, and you've had the problem diagnosed. So mabye when you're at the dealer, have a mech take a quick look at it, it's easy to diagnose.
