You would need a Line Out Converter to change the HU high level to low level RCA. Be aware that when using most EQ's, the HU volume and fader controls will no longer be used. If you have the factory amp, a eq cannot be used. The amp has a internal dsp processing the signal.

its seriously way too much work, and the cost compared to what you'd get out of it isnt worth it.........ur better off with a semi decent deck and upgrading your speakers........

I have to agree with Bigd6983. You will pay at least 100 for a decent eq and another 20 - 40 for a decent Line out converter. Add another couple for rca's. You can get many aftermarket HU's with built in graphic eq's. Even the lowest eclipse model has this built into it for 180 list. You can normaly pick it up for about 150. I think the pioneer and alpine low ends are the same.

and what i wanna know is if hes converting the output off the head unit to rca's and most EQ's outputs are rca's, wouldnt he have to convert it back speaker level?? i dont know what type of equipment hes using so its hard to assume, but yea your seriously better off checking out ebay or some mid end eclipse, pioneer, or alpine units.......ive never heard eclipse but mikegett likes them and id trust his judgement, i personally like pioneer for their quality, user friendliness, and price.......and alpine is alpine, cant go wrong, but its a lil less user friendly........thats what id do anyway......
