No Gauge Cluster or Radio

K the car is a 2003 alero 2.2 5-spd.

Sometimes the gauge cluster and radio stop working totally and sometimes there are lights on is the cluster (service vehicle soon, brake warning light, air bag, security, low fuel {because the fuel gauge is reading empty when gauges aren't working}) Sometimes everything works like a dream. The car is running fine with no ideling or start-up issues. I got the batt and alt tested both tested GOOD for the past two days the car has been in a heated garage with a small heater under the dash to dry everything out still doing the same thing. Does anyone know what could be up?

Sounds like a short or an exposed wire grounding but is your headunit stock?

Ask a mech buddy to check out the wiring diagrams on a program like shop-key. Figure out which wires are the power source and ground for the cluster.

Once you know that check to make sure both are working properly, and also that theres continuity between them on the cluster.

If you can catch it when they're not working that'd be the best.

That's a problem with the Class 2 data bus. That's what controls the cluster and radio.
