looking for an o2 simulator for the 3400

hey guys i have an o2 simulator in my car thats been it in for like the last 2 years but recently the SES light comes and goes, im gonna jack up the car and check it out for water damage or something but in the meantime im looking to buy a new one to replace it but the website i bought mine off of a while ago does not have them listed for sale anymore. the one that i have is a complete plug and play but i would not mind having to splice wires as long as it makes the SES light go away, anyone know where i can get one?

Good luck.

PFYC pulled them a while ago because they are illegal. I doubt you'll find one anywhere

Not for the 2nd o2 after the cat it's only there to make sure cat is working properly. If not triggers ses light that's it!!

Ohhh, that makes perfect sense then!

Find a way to generate a flat .5V signal, easy as pie.

Nope the signal needs to fluctuate or you get the code.

Why? That's exactly what the cat is supposed to do.. make the signal not fluctuate. A fluctuating signal (that mirrors the pre-cat o2 too closely) is what sets off the low catalyst efficiency code.

Unless a slight fluctuation is how if differentiates from a real o2 or a fake one like Grim wants.

It looks for fluctuation. If it fluctuates too slow, it assumes the sensor is bad and throws a code. It also knows that the voltage output changes with temperature, so if it doesn't see a shift in center voltage of a specified amount a set amount of time after closing the heater relay, it will throw a code as well.

Weld in (if its not already there) a bung for a sensor, then install it with a drilled out spark plug anti-fouler as a spacer. Or better yet, just install a high flow cat, reinstall a sensor and be happy that you aren't polluting the air.

Its still up for debate long term if the metals in a cat will actually do more harm then what they eliminate.
