i mean every product people either say it works or it doesn't you could like Google it and go through all the different links and still not be 100% certain about it. ive increased my has millage over the last 3 months from the low 215's on a tank to 257 just by not driving like i usually do and i took out my WIA and tightened everything back up and it seems to working. just try to no have a "heavy" foot its hard but i made my tank last 2 weeks

In contrast, alcohol has been shown to be corrosive in an engine, yet they put THAT into gasoline. Alcohol in general is anti-mileage. Alcohol is no good in fuels. In Brazil, millions of engines and fuel systems were ruined by alcohol. Yet they are talking of doubling the amount of alcohol in gasoline.

Alcohol injection is great.. Increases octane, supercools the intake air, cleans the engine and intake. Guess all those cars running E85 (85% ethanol) are doomed. And all the race engines that run straight alcohol. And me running a methanol injection system.

it sounds odd. but both articles say it works. I don't think I'll be tryng that in any car I plan to keep though. That suff is a moderate decomposite (acid).

Its been brought up before was it may or may not work and it ruins the seals and lines of the fuel system.

Just drive 60MPH on the highway, don't take off quick, don't unnecessarily brake, and get superior mileage.
This guy with his 2.4L Cavalier got 39 MPG doing 60 all the way rather than 70 or speeding. I got 31MPG doing 85-90MPH all the way one highway trip; I gotta see what I get when I drive 60. Some guy posted up on another forum how he got 52 MPG in a car that normally gets 33MPG by driving 60MPH. A Camaro went from 26 to 38 MPG also by dropping from 70MPH to 60MPH.

Well, you do know that E85 gets a bit worse mileage too.. For example...
2008 Chevrolet Impala.
E10 Mileage - 18/28
E85 Mileage - 13/20

People are going to do anything to save on gas, including ruining their cars.
O wait, I've said this before

Just take a can of compressed air, and invert it with the plastic "hose" going into the PVC connector. Guaranteed to get 10-15 more MPG, and atlest 35 more horsepower.

what hose on our cars are made of polyvinyl chloride? you mean the positive crankcase venitlation hose?
anyways it's highly likely not to do anything at all. go try it if it bothers you that much. lol

The Mythbusters people didn't do it right. The acetone sites will tell you that if your engine is dirty that it will decrease your mileage while it's cleaning out your engine. Mythbusters took old cars and didn't account for that.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I have a bit of info, as I gave acetone a try on my Alero.
I did 6 months of normal driving and checked my mileage and averaged it. Then 6 months with acetone. I even gave it some good throttle, as I hadn't driven like a grandma before testing. Anyway, I gained exactly 1.5 mpg with acetone. Also, the engine was completely silent at idle, and my usual oil changed dumped gold oil into the pan instead of black. I don't understand how it works, so I stopped using it.
So, at least for 4 banger Aleros it seems to work. I estimated that after buying the acetone, I would get one free fill up a year... :/
