Ok, seeing a how its getting cold now, I was considering a remote starter. Is it possible to get one that will just have the function of starting the car, and not taking over controlling the remote lock and trunk release? Example: I would have 2 remotes, my factory one to unlock the doors, panic, and open thr trunk, and the other remote that starts the car. Also, I NEED good range, because my car is parked a good ways away from my house. So any info or opinions on good brands and such would be greatly appreciate. Thanks

Vipers have decent range.

And yes thats possible, but one with a good range will most likely have all those functions anyways but just dont hook them up!

Good luck!

I've decided that if I get a remote starter, I'm going too get a top quality alarm with remote start, and keyless entry. Just makes more sense too get a top quality alarm system with all the features I want then just a remote start.

well unless you have a killer soundsystem, you dont really need an alarm.

i myself would like remote start, but i dont need all the other crap that comes along with it. and money is a factor for some of us.
