Is the diameter on top of the throttle body a 3" diameter or is it going to be 2.75" like my intake piping. I ask only because I am hopping between classes and I haven't had the time to open the hood and check.

If it's a 3" I know the Autozone in town has a 3" elbow but not the 2.75"

Wish I still had it so I could go out and check for you.

I got an elbow piece and that connects just fine, I just don't see a way to get the IAT sensor out of the old box. That and I need to get a tube for the mini filter.

Sorry, not the sensor. It's the little hose there that's coming out of the bottom right of the engine, I think it's a small tube anyway. Would I just cut that from the old resonator and silicon it into the new intake?

yep! I just drilled a little hole in one of the couplings, suck it in, silicon. works fine. you dont need a hose for the valve cover air thing. just get a mini breather filter to on there.

My mini breather wouldn't go on without a tiny elbow in there (the metal tubing of the engine was in the way) but I fixed that with some tubing I had. Now I just need to silicon in the smaller tube and I should be all set. You've been a big help, thanks.

sorry to thread jack, however I am only asking because i have limited tools here, what is needed to change the IAT sensor...I have fairly recently had it stall from that again and I can't help but think that it has to be at least partially responsible for my fuel mileage and the fact that it takes so long to adjust proper fuel trims (ex. got 30 mpg all the way to ASS after all the driving I had done for the week before was highway, then after the weekend of driving it kind of hard only got 25 mpg all the way home driving the same speed and route at the same or slightly slower pace)

Out of the stock intake I had to cut a little to get it to come out nicely but I only did that since I wasn't going to be using it again. I'd think it should just pull out with a good amount of force and wiggling.

Here it is installed and working like a breeze.

I just need a new filter and a good cleaning under the hood before it gets much colder.

while I have a cone filter it is on the end of the factory tube, I just need to replace the POS sensor before it screws something expensive up

It's mentioned in this thread out to remove it.

I wish there was a fast acting IAT for the alero. The one I got for the goat helped a ton. I'm sure if someone made one they would sell good for the alero.

16.99 plus tax...i haven't been able to check mpg stuff yet, however after driving it multiple times for a total of about half an hour all stop and go i noticed rapid acceleration and downshifts seemed to get gradually less laggy the first time it was on with it and the times after that it has seemed much better...Before I replaced it if I was going say 35 and stepped on it it would downshift to about 3250, die out to about 3100 and then slowly pick up, but now there is no dying back and it moves...Even if it is screwed up like mine was it isn't gonna turn it into a drag car or anything, but you will probably notice a slight difference in how it opperates

i know that this doesn't have to do with air intake, however I mentioned in this thread that I replaced the IAT sensor, well the car runs better but gets worse fuel economy...this tells me that I need to replace o2 sensors, would it hurt to get a cheap one to last until I eventually get my exhaust system

I couldn't tell you where I read it but it seems like the AC Delco ones aren't too bad. This is one for the ecotec (I don't know what engine you have) and it's only forty bucks, not too bad.
