I actually just picked up a cheap set off ebay and put them on. They came a bit ugly. Lots of yellow on them. One had some nice gouges on the very center. But since I was painting the calipers I put them on anyways. I had to get them machined since they were rubbing a bit. So far so go though. But I've only had them on a week or so, so I don't know how they'll hold up.

Cross drilled /slotted is nice, I have them but you can hear them hit the slots hit the pads lightly when i drive but they stop great. When you put on your new pads and rotors make sure the pads are ceramic and make sure you bleed your brake system.

You dont need ceramic pads, they are actually worse with these types of rotors. The best pads for these kinds of rotors are semi-metalic. There is also no need to bleed your brake lines.

I picked up Baer cross drilled and slotted from Autozone for like $270 or so (i was in a bind so i had to pay) and they're decent. Stopping distance has been greatly decreased and as was mentioned before...they are a little bit louder than the factory ones, but at least they're not squeeking like a dying duck like my last ones. Oh, yeah you also get a little bit of a squeal, or at least I do, right when you come to a stop, but from what i've been told, thats just the nature of ceramic pads

Get semi-metalic pads, they will stop the squeeling.

it's not a bad idea to open the bleeder valve so when u push the piston back in any dirt you may have pushed back in has a chance to exit the system.

I feel better now that I'm not the only one that thinks they're noisy.

Of course they are noisey. Performance is always a trade off.
Examples:
Lower your car and get better steering response and keeps it flat through high speed corners, downfall, bumpy and stiff ride.
You want a faster car, cool, but its gonna be louder.
You want sticky tires, cool, but the tire wear is gonna suck.
Performance is always a trade off, gotta lose to gain.

exactly and plus I hear ceramic pads wear out a lot faster then semi metallic. I got hawk semi metallic pads with brembo crossed and drilled rotors and they are a lot louder than stock, but its what couple said u gotta lose to gain.

Yeah, I"m totally used to that cause and effect. I've just never had drilled and slotted rotors before and the sound was foreign to me.

Its not a constant sound though right?
Like driving down the road screeching or anything..
Just when you break?
And when you break is it really loud or just loud enough you can't hear it when you hvae the radio on?

It's only when you brake firmly. it might be noted as a vibration type sound.
