if any of you have been reading some of my posts.....you guys probably know that i have 2 12"s in the trunk. although it sounds f***in' awesome they slide around when ever i turn or accelerate too fast. so for now i have my sub boxes in there holding them in place.

is there a good way to secure the box down and make it look good at the same time? i don't want to go get "L" brackets....i want it too damn good?

does anybody have good suggestions or pics? i'm up for any ideas....

well that's the thing.....i don't drive like a maniac unless i'm challenged. i'll accelerate from a light and hear a big thump from the subs hitting the back wall of my trunk.

i'm just wondering if anybody had anything that really worked for them

My sub carpet must give more friction because I don't have this problem. However, there are metal strips that you place on the bottom of things to keep them from moving. The metal strip has two bent prongs that scoop into the carpet to hold it in place.

if there just little plastic corners you could maybe just take em off unless it makes the box look bad

For mine I went to Home depot and bought a couple of metal straps that are used for strping joist together. They already have 2 big holes in them and a bunch of little holes. I used the bolt from the teather anchors to secure the straps to the car and bent them to the contors of the car unde rthe carpet than cut a small slit in the carpet for them to come threw and secured tham to the box. no more moving and also better gaurded against theft.

Get some MDF from Lowe's or Home Depot and cut it to the shape of your trunk then screw them bitches down. Put some carpet on the new floor and youre set. Its a little hard to get to the jack and spare tire though but it will help hold your stuff down.

that sounds like a waste of time and money to me, and doesn't make sense

ive never had a problem, but i guess your box is riding on those plastic corners. i know i had a uncarpeted box for like 3 days while i waited for the carpet (no, i couldn't wait to hear the subs) and that thing always slid around no matter what, as soon as i carpeted it, it went away

It's not really a waste. It gives you something to screw into besides the trunk floor where you could hit the gas tank or anything else under there. I have my sub box, amp, and cap screwed into it too. A little nicer look too I think.

hmmm.....never thought about that.....i guess you just gotta make sure you don't get a flat!! lol!

but the box i got from Best Buy, it's carpeted and has protective corners on it like they expected it to move around!! it doesn't make sense....i tried to take one of them off but it looked like it was going to tear the carpet...and i didn't want to deal with it.

thanx for the imput guys!! i'm going to see if i can do the fake floor deal...i used to work construction, so i got some tools that i can use.

i'm thinkin'bout putting some neons in there to accent my subs......is it worth it?!? and where do i hook the power up to?

There called L-brackets and you can get them for .10 cents at home depot and another .15 cents for the screws to hold them.

{} < = box
L= L braket so {}+L= {}L problem solved

If you had read his original post he doesnt want L brackets.

I used to use Strips of double sided velcro. They worked really well. And velcro is CHEAP.

First off MORONS

EVERYONE ON HERE L BRACKETS ARE BETTER THEN NOT GETTING ANY MONEY WHEN IT GETS STOLEN.

If you dont want L brackets, take your subs out, and drill and bolt the box to the floor pan of your car. you cant see it, use 4 count em, FOUR bolts to secure the box MINIMUM.
I have heard of claims to insurance companys denyed because only 3 bolts were used...

With this method you will not see the bolts only your box, Then screw the subs back in, now your box is near IMPOSSIBLE to steal. and guess what... wont move.
