K I'll probably be getting new interior speakers soon.

Anybody have suggestions of speakers that are good quality(sound) and not overly expensive? thanks

I spent $300 including install on a set of Eclipse speakers for my car 4x6 and 6x9's. Sound VERY good, not a lot of bass though, but I didn't want a lot of bass...I have subs for that. Another, slightly cheaper, but still very good alternative is the Infinity Kappa series (or even cheaper..the Reference series). Thats my opinion

Well for front speakers...with a 4" adapter plate.....I have the Audiobahn ABC4002Q component speakers. I got to say that of all the brands I've had..(infinity, sony, pioneer, jbl, kenwood) these are the best sounding speakers for their class. Kind of expensive but not too bad if you shop around. With my alpine amp powering them.....the sound quality is superb. Can hear things in my music that I could never hear with other speakers...

But that's just my taste....tons of other good ones though

As far as back speakers....I have the Pioneer TS-A6980R 6x9's. I really love them. They have excellent frequency response range and I still can't believe the deep clean bass I get from them. They are pretty well priced...under $100

Polk Audio makes good speakers to, especially the MOMO line. I have their db series 6.5 components up front, ex series 6x9s in the back, as well as 2 10" subs, and am very pleased with how they sound. I think they run around the same price as the Infinities. Definatly a good choice. In fact, I have a new pair of the MOMO 4x6s for sale for $80 (they retail at $120).

Is your setup going to be amplified or run off of stock or aftermarket deck? Personally I would probably get the Infinity Refrence series 4x6 plates, you could run them amplified or off the deck. I have the Eclipse 6x9's, the 4 ways, and I love them. They get really loud with no distortion. Mine have always been run of an amp, but I previewed them at The Good Guys off just the deck they sounded good.
