electrical is better, you screw in the sensor someplace and then connect the wires from that to your gauge
from googling it looks like there's an oil pressure switch that is what sets off the dummy light, that you can screw the sensor into instead of having that switch. on the car on the google result it was near the oil filter.

well you just HAD to haul off and get the complicated one, didn't you??
can't help ya. mines electrical. But i DO know, your going to have to run a tube from somewhere in the engine, to the gauge, and fill it with oil.

where did u hook it up tho, u may be able to help me there...where is our stock sending unit? Because the only difference between electrical and mechanical is that there is a tube filled with oil instead of wires goin to the gauge....
edit: the location of the stock sending unit is really the only thing I find myself confused on now, once its hooked in everythin else is plug and play it seems....

I would go out and buy stainless steel tubing for that. The plastic tubing breaks with age and messes up the interior of the car, if you're lucky

So is it possible to hook up and electrical one on the 2.4 without Sticking a hole in my engine or somehing?
Come on, there has to be a sensor wire I can steal from.

if you can run a power wire for an amp, you can DEFINITELY run a 18-20ga wire for an oil pressure sensor.
