Car dead, hood wont pop

Hey folks,

So my car has been off for about 2-3 weeks and my folks went to drive it and it wouldn't start.

My dad tried to pop the hood and said it pops but he can't get it to unlock and lift... is there any way to get the hood open?

I haven't been home for over a month so I haven't had the chance to look... any advice?

Thanks,

Mike

Does he know that there is a lever underneath the hood to release it?

Yup, he's had the pleasure of boosting the car too many times since I've been gone.

try having one person pull the handle inside the car and have someone else on the outside trying to pop it from there... the cable could be weak or partly seized and need a second person to get in there... also, try some wd40 through the grill to spray down the latch in case it is seized as well...

Will do; I should be home this weekend to give her a go.

I think the ground cables are shot to hell too (car goes funky sometimes electrically when you try and start it).

Is there any on the shelf replacement ones? I'd rather pay for new ones than tear shit apart to service them..
