Is this a bad sign?

There is next to no exhaust coming out of my pipes anymore (winter here can see it well) and the inside of ym car smells like exhaust what could be causing this? =/

go have it scanned at a parts store. but it'll w/o a doubt have an emissons check thrown.

jack it up and take a look at the exhaust from the engine back. (sat nights get some people online, but sat days and all day sunday are really slow for members.) i don't have much knowledge for exhuast...

you might have to wait for monday...

9 chances out of 10 there's a hole somewhere. You can get exhaust tape to patch it. Or, You can have it replaced with a full Cat back.

Mind you, With winter coming up as it is, I'd go with the first option for now.

or, the baffles in the muffler could have collapsed. that happened to my friend's grand am and it clogged the exhaust and blew a hole in the top of the muffler and exhaust was getting trapped under the car instead of going out the back past the bumper like its supposed to

There has to be a leak somewhere. There is no other explanation (or so i think).

Like they said, jack it up and take a look at it.

If there was a hole, he would hear it.

Just get out and ask someone to start the car for you as you are looking in the engine bay, or under the car. Look for smoke.

My guess is that since it smells in the car, the exhaust have to be leaking from the engine bay. My first car had a bad manifold to downpipe gasket and it was smelling gas in the car badly.

I know, thats why i said to look in the engine bay while someone start the car so he can actually see the smoke before it goes away. And its also colder these days, so he should be able to see it for a longer period of time.

Not an expert, but it could be a gasket or something close to the header.

actually possibly
but only if they are too big or too small

but that would also affect your speedo too

what sized rims/tires do you have on the car ?

Tires can speed or slow your car depending on the weight of each wheels. Big chrome rims are Heavy, therefore will make your car slower.

The diameter of the wheel will only affect the speedometer.
