seems to have made it louder maybe because it thins oil down?

ive used mmo in every car ive ever owned. i usually use it every few oil changes i just follow bottle instructions. i know the engines probably clean likes its brand new cuz im a freak on maintenance im a little heasitant to use things like lucas, oil treatments, motor honey, etc. cuz they are so thick i am worried thats not good for motor.

I love Lucas I have used it in every vehicle I have owned. My motor runs perfect, i'm a bit CDO (OCD, in order, lol) about my engine as well, if I could I would pull it apart every month or so and scrub everything, lol

If that stuff you’re using thins the oil, that may be your problem, it may be too thin. I understand being hesitant on using something different but give Lucas a shot, my explorer had a bit of a tick and I put some of that in there and it was gone.

If you don’t like the idea, try looking for something from the company that makes the oil you use, say you use Valvoline oil, they make an additive.
