My first post here, but just saw this thread and I would advise against buying counterfeit seats on ebay or cheap knockoffs. Those links even tell you the seats are knockoffs by saying they're a "registered trademark in Canada." You'll never see a pair of authentic Bride seats for under $1000, and even then real Bride reclining seats which cost close to $1000 each don't fare so well in crashes. Save your money and don't risk your life with cheap seats.

I'm curious to see the shoulder/lap loads on a sled test with bolt-in seatbelts not utilizing a torsion bar... I'll have to ask around tomorrow about why our harnesses can be safe without a load limiter. Might be in the webbing stretch.

From someone in the safety industry, the only collision that would more severely harm you using seats that break under load is a high energy rear collision.

well... front impact, alot of your force goes forward, retrained by belt, then pulled back with recoil... so its still ALOT more then usual.

...but i'd mostly have to agree with your original statement..

I like the Bride seats with the red stiching. Not too crazy about the ones that say "Bride" all down the back and butt parts.

I give you credit though. I wouldn't buy a new seat without a test sit first

I have sat in several different sparco and recaros and never been dissapointed. So I figured it was a safe choice.

The Bride seats are normally for really skinny people, so they wouldn't be something I'd gamble on without trying them out. A reclining FRP seat is nice - probably some significant weight savings.
Honestly, when I was auditioning seats I fit best in Sparco Evos, but they were non-reclining....so the Recaros got the nod. Let's face it, this is still a street car.
Good luck with your purchase.
