Speakers Brands: Quality,Price,Installation

Hi, I have been wondering to possibly upgrade my front door and rear deck speakers. I know that the front door speakers are 4 x 6 and the rear deck speakers are 6 x 9. The brands that I have narrowed down to are either Kenwood or Pioneer speakers. I want to know which of the brands has better quality for these size speakers and cheaper price. Also I pretty much know how to replace the front door speakers but, I really don't know how to replace the rear deck speakers. A list of tools needed would also help out a lot. All comments are appreciated. Thank you.

well... do you want power, or quality? what is your price range, per pair?

Why only those two, why not infinity, americanbass, alpine, cadence, etc?

do you have the monsoon amp or not? (will be behind the fabric, in the trunk, on the driver's side, i think) This will help us inform you how your going to replace those speakers...

The Car Audio Gods frown upon Kenwood.

Seriously man, DONT DO IT. If you have never listened to stranger on a forum before, do it now. 16 years of experience says DONT DO IT.

I dont know I just thought about Kenwood and Pioneer since I was thinking about purchasing speakers probably from Best Buy and thought that those were good brands. I dont know to much about car audio so I will probably be asking more questions as I upgrade my audio system. I just got my first car in July so I dont know too much about my car yet. I guess I just want something with deep bass for now since I dont really have that much money to spend on subs and speakers together so I decided to replace speakers first. My budget right now is around $100 since I dont have a job yet. Should I replace the rear ones or front doors ones first, or put in a new headunit. I dont know what goes first. Please help and sorry for this huge paragraph lol. I dont think I have the monsoon amp since I have the tweeters on the inside of the side mirrors.

i think monsoon still has those tweeters. (maybe i'm wrong, though) I'd search your trunk for the amp, to be sure.

You can upgrade speakers and get some small benefit, without a headunit upgrade.
A headunit upgrade, gets you more functionality, but same sound, without a speaker upgrade.

And $100 is a really low budget for this stuff. I understand your young, inexperienced, and eager to get into the audio addiction... but take it slow. Do your research, find the best deal for the best money, preplan what/where/how.

Ultimately, if you want great sound, your going to want to get an aftermarket headunit (probably $150-300 depending on company and function) an amp for the 4 speakers (front and back, which will run approx $200) and GOOD front speakers/tweeters which are probably $100-150. Then subs, which I have el-cheapos, sub/amp so I won't even estimate that.

The sky is the limit for any of this, but if you go cheap, you can expect cheap quality from that stuff.

Mattismodderx, ryanfromohio, afugy, cashdollar, and a couple other guys on here really know their stuff when it comes to audio. Ryan can be a little harsh, but its for you own good. Also, hes a dealer, so he can usually get you good stuff, at a good price. I've gotten deals from him quite often and its always worked out great for me.

i would have to agree with ryan on this one, i got Kickers in my doors cause i could afford them and i got a free pair of old school Power Accustix in my back dash that is fine with me ATM i've talked to Ryan about my possible options and once i can find a better source of income(odd jobs don't pay bills well) i will be talking more to Ryan because i trust that he won't sell me something i don't need.... there are people on here who will tell you about what you can do for around a price range and Ryan would be one that could possibly hook you up.......

get a new headunit to start out with. I have an Alpine which works amazingly well, and I'm sure others can attest. you will have a LOT more control over your stock speakers then.

I would have to buy those, then pay someone to install them properly.. then pay someone else to properly adjust them...

... screw.....that.

I got 6x9 and 4 inch JL Audio Evolutions in mine. I love them. Have decent bass and awesome SQ with just the Headunits amp. They sound amazing when powered by an amp.

screw that remove the back interior and stack 3 of them while still keeping subs in the trunk. hear before you see? try hear every word clean and clear a few blocks away before you see. they got the loudest car vocals ever.

your work has tons of gear like that, ever think of experimenting?
