New Deck, No Sound!
Hi all!
Today I installed my after market Pioneer CD player into my Alero, and I used an adapter that keeps my chimes, etc. Everything works fine, except I can't get any sound out of it.
I've realized that I've got an amp mounted in the trunk, on the drivers side behind the carpet. My adapter had a blue wire labeled for the power antenna, and my deck had a blue wire labeled for system remote control. Do I need to connect these two blue wires to get my amp to work, and get sound?
My wiring diagram for the head unit shows the blue wire to be for triggering after market amplifiers, so basically I'm wondering if the blue wire in my adapter is supposed to be used to trigger the amp.
Thanks for anything!

Well, I'm not screwed. I connected the blue wire from my adapter harness to the remote wire in my deck harness, and everything works beautifully! Its not a monsoon deck, but still had an amp.
So, problem solved!

Werd, I just caught this thread, but yes you need to connect those wires to turn the factory amp off and on

I don't think there is another amp besides the monsoon one. They just don't advertise that it's monsoon.

Okay. All I know is it doesn't say monsoon on the deck. *shrug*
It'll be nice that there's already wiring run to that location. Then all I'll have to do is upgrade the amp someday.

The amp will say Monsoon. Too bad I just got a look at this thread. I was going to suggest to connect both light blue wires but you are way ahead .

What is the other amp, just a generic Delco/Delphi one?

I saw a picture of a Monsoon amp on ebay and I'm pretty sure its the same as what I've got in my trunk. I'm really amazed at how good the system sounds after upgrading the head unit. It was good before, but now that I have a little more control over it it sounds better! In my Achieva I had three amps, and it only sounded a little better than this does!
They weren't good amps, and the speakers were shyte, but still sounded good.
I'd like to get a strong 5 channel amp and some new speakers that can hack 50 watts RMS on all 4 corners and a nice little 10" sub to blend everything together nicely.
