I thought this was mentioned a while ago, but I can't find it despite a few search attempts. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how to remove the bottom half of the back seat (the part you sit on). Any help is appreciated.

I had a fun experience getting my rear seat to re-connect to the car itself. Note to self, don't try to fit 7 people in an Alero...anyway...

Lift the seat up, ( it will come up a little, and there are two black metal connectors under the right and left seats, one on each side of the car. Inside them is a plastic piece that can be disconnected. VERY DIFFICULT. Me and a friend had some channel locks, a screwdriver, and a hammer. Take off both and the seat should come off.

Sorry thats kinda vauge, but I don't have any pictures to show of it. Another suggestion in case that doesn't work: get a chainsaw...

eh, it's quite easy to put back on, even if the plastic pieces come off. just need at least half a brain to do it.

Its easy to remove if you do it during the day. Unfortunately, the only opportunity I had was at 12 midnight, and the lighting for the rear of the Alero sucks. When you cant even see the black metal connectors and other stuff, its kinda hard, especially if you have never seen the underside of an Alero seat.

So, in conclusion, do it during the day and you shouldnt have a problem.

mine comes out pretty easily. The black clip is between 2 pieces of metal about 1/2 inch apart , just stick a flat head screwdriver on the black plastic clip and push it in, the seat pops up really easily after you got it pushed in.
