personally i've only heard fosgate and pioneer. (and one 15" volfhangen (sp?) which was insane)

i currently have 2, 10" fosgate HE2. DVC, 400 RMS. they hit good. but i'm more of a metal fan.

personally, i'd just suggest going to a site like sounddomain.com and getting the specs of the ones your looking at and compare them to something outta your price range. (not ridiculously high) but if they are even reasonable in quality, sure.. go with them.

You can't go wrong with kicker! I have 2 12" L7's in my car 750 RMS and a Kicker KX1200.1 amp pushing them. Of course they will drown out your stock highs, so you are going to need to replace those too It never ends...I just bought MB Quarts for the doors and the back with a Kicker KX850.4 to push them. Can't wait to install them.

yea ive heard the square kickers hit real hard but there sound quality is crap, ive heard the kicker cvr's are a good bang for ur buck, i love jl audio, alpines put out some nice clean bass, i dont like audiobahns, the punch is a lil tighter which is something u want for rock music not rap.......

Not to say anyother brand is crap but I know of a 1200 watt Phoenic Gold system that blew a 2400 watt system out of the water , the set up was 2 12" Octane ZR subs and 2 PG amps running them. I have 2 10" Ocatane R subs ( 250 watts each) in a vented custume PG box running off a 500 watt amp and it pounds hard and sound very clean ( I also have compoents 6.5s in the front and PG 6x9 in the back ). Where you listen to rap/hip hop you woudl probaly want to go with 2 12's in a sealed box aimmed into the car not at the trunk and match it or exceed it with an amp.

PS: Just my 2 cents.

Long live METAL

Shameless plug:

I have 2 L7 12s for sale if your interested. $250 for both. They will get stupid loud. They don't have the best sound quality in the world but for rap I don't think it would matter.

with such a general question as that, you're going to see quite a variety of opinions. personally i've always liked Audiobahn as long as you get a HIGH series. for example the **08T series and above, or the ALUM series(for high SQ).

i personally have always liked JL subs. Audiobahn subs are good. and there are several out there that are good.

but if you don't have a proper box for your subs they aren't going to sound as good as they can.
since you don't want a box in the middle of your trunk then you need to figure out where you want a box and how big it will be and get subs that will work best in your application.

Like sound said, your gonna get alot of different opinions.

If you listen to mostly rap the you want someting that can move some air. Im with lovesteh20s, check out RE, they have a good line of subs and Ive herd nothing but praise for them. You get a JL quality sub for half the price. It should sound great in terms of SQ, but more importantly it will pound. Just make sure you have the power to move it. oh and just get 1 15.

:P

I've got 2 pioneer 12's that I have had for eh 10 years or so. Even after all this time, they still hit like the day I bought them. Some people like to keep upgrading, but I say why if they're not broken. I got 2 pioneer 10's in my wife's car and they too sound very good. They don't hit as deep as mine, but again, they're 10's, I got 12's and I've got about 500 more watts in my amp. Pioneers are resonably priced as well.
