Added a second sub, now bass response is quieter?

Hey guys, I recently picked up another 12" Kenwood W3011 sub from a friend to go with my matching one. They are 400w rms and 1200w max each. I have them hooked to my pioneer GM-D8500M amp. It is a 1200w monoblock class d amp. The subs are in a sealed Q logic box.

Anyways, I hooked up my second one today and it drastically reduced the bass output compared to having just one. my excursion is gone and I don't know what's going on. The single 12" hit much, much better and sounded great. I tried turning up the gain but it didn't help. It sounds much better on the normal gain setting on the amp with only one sub. Now, I hardly get any excursion or bass output and it seems to skip certain notes all together.

Did I wire them wrong? Can someone shed some light onto what I did wrong or what the problem would be? Thank you.

Sounds like they're out of phase. Check your wires.
Not the best video but you get the idea, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGwjWdtF2EI

Don't just play around with your gain, the gain is only meant set the amp to the level of out put coming out of the head unit.

Thank you for the quick response! I was doing a little searching On google and came up with the sane result. It seems they are out of phase. I'll switch the wires and test them with the battery tomorrow. And if that doesn't work, I'll go recheck everything. My amp does have enough power though, right? And how would you suggest I wire the subwoofers? Thanks again!

That amp will handle 2 ohms and you have 2 x 4ohm speakers, wire them in parallel.

Yea make sure they are parallel, I had the same subs on a mono 1000W and they had super excursion.. Just figure it out. Things will come from those subs believe me.
