I know what and where the brake master cylinder is.
I also know what and where the clutch master cylinder is.
I'm looking for the clutch slave cylinder.

dont you hate when people chime in and dont know anything about what they are talking about? i really hate that.
there is no clutch slave cylinder.
on the alero the hydraulic release system consists of your clutch pedal, a master cylinder w/ your fluid resivoir, the clutch fluid hydraulic line, and an integral clutch release cylinder and release bearing assembly.

oh, and i forgot to add.... the clutch release cylinder is SOMETIMES known as an actuator cylinder, or slave cylinder.
and if that helps you any, to get to the acuator/release/slave cylinder you have to remove the master cylinder, remove the transmission (fun!), and then you can slide the release/actuator/slave cylinder and it's bearings off of the input shaft.

and if you replace your slave, make sure you replace your master at the same time because most the time the master will go out soon after, at least on my dsm it worked that way, not to sure on the alero

good info, i just replaced the slave on my girls 03 eclipse. but with the slave it was just the little seal around the piston, it had folded over and fluid was shooting into the boot and leaking. so the master cyl shouldnt have any problems, at least not for a little while, being an 03, but then again, its a mitsu. so i dunno. |
