help: I wrecked the Alero
I tried to avoid being creamed by a truck who was sliding toward me, but in the process I slid sideways up over a curb. My rear wheel hit a storm drain. My steering wheel is roostered to the right instead of being strait now noon is now at about 2 o'clock on my wheel.
When driving the car over any surface that isn't perfectly smooth, the rear end starts breaking loose and fishtailing like a RWD truck on ice. It is tough to keep the car driving without fishtailing and it has been very sketchy to drive today. The wheels look fine. They seem straight. I can't see anything obvious broken or bent underneath and Car-X said that everything looked fine underneath. Other than obviously needing a new alignment, does anyone have any ideas what I could have damaged? I was thinking that maybe I blew out a strut? My usual mechanic told me over the phone that I may have broken or damaged the rear arms.

Have the tire checked too... could have shifted the belts in the tire causing it to not want to go straight... but i agree, suspension components are out of whack!! Get it to the mechanic!

It was the rear camber bolt was knocked loose and the alignment was seriously off. I got lucky on that. Somehow I hit that curb and didn't leave a mark anywhere that I can tell. I think that I broke the wiring to the rear hub assembly or something because my trac off light won't go off now. I can't remember if that started when I put the stock air box back in or after I hit the curb?

For some reason these cars can take a wack on the rear wheels and be OK. My accident in 2006 when the idiot lost control of his car and hit me on my left rear wheel and spun me around, the wheel was "tucked" but should have been in the trunk. I still think the tower brace helped save it too
