Engine sensors and what they do
my car is running horribly. after the engine is warmed up, it hates accelerating. its fine until the heat gets to the 1/4 mark then all performance and smoothness is out the window. i'm wondering if a sensor could do this but i'm not sure where to start with diagnosing a problem. so if somebody would be kind enough to post the sensors, their location, their function, and symptoms of them malfunctioning, i would be forever grateful

yes, WOT is affected. it happens in 2nd and 3nd gear the worst, feels like the engine is bogging. its the worst at a almost-WOT acceleration. for example, i'm driving and car stops in front of me. i slow down and my car goes into 2nd gear to get back to previous speed. instead of smooth acceleration, the car feels like it just doesn't have enough power. like i said, it only happens when the car is warm which leads me away from bad spark plugs or plug wires and a clogged car or tranny problems cause transmossions slip worse when they're cold than warm.

i'm thinking maybe its the TPS going bad? either that or the MAF. could i possibly unplug the MAF when its messing up and see if the car runs better?

Does it throw a code...I mean it could be o2 or Crankshaft position but those usually tell ya.
Could also be an injector. I had that problem recently and that always fun

i only have an evaporative canister leak code. it shouldn't cause this. but, it possibly could be a fuel injector because my car's history in the GM databases shows that its had fuel injector problems that were covered by warranty in 2002.

10:1 they did a pressure system clean instead of a replacement on the injector.
