Okay, I've had the car for 2 weeks now, and I'm on my second sound system- the one from my previous ride just didn't sound right in the cavernous opulence that is Alero. New Alpine head unit, Rockford Fosgate 1200 watt Punch series amp, 12" Power Acoustik subwoofer in subzone trunk box (I highly recommend this line of boxes, they're well made and the back angle fits perfectly against the rear seats in the trunk) and Boston Acoustic 6x9" 2-ways in the deck and component plates in the doors- all tied in with 4-gauge stinger cable to the amp mounted on the back of the passenger side rear seat and stinger competition speaker wire to the subwoofer. I put in a power distribution block under the carpeting in the trunk in case I want to put in a multi-channel amp later for the other speakers, and to reduce the 4-gauge to 8 going into the amp.

The speaker wire is the only exposed one- I left it that way because I have to move the sub over if I put anything in the trunk, which is pretty often. Besides, that's not a particularly bad looking cable.
