Exclamation Cold air or ram air

2.4L 01 5spd alero

cold air intake or short ram air intake? what will be better for sound? and performance?

also whats the job like to install each

they will sound about the same. Cold air will have marginally better performance.

as for installation, it really depends on which type of kit you get. some short ram intakes replace the whole assembly from throttle body to filter, and some just replace some tubing. As for the cold air, it's a little tougher, as you have to rip out the intake resonator from the fenderwell. it was tough for me for no apparent reason...lol

def cai...... what you can do, as stated in other threads, is that you can go and get a ram air intake system, and then get a cold air intake system for the v6...... you might have to get a coupler though.....
