setting the TPS sensor

I need help just got a used TPS sensor and just found out that they need to be adjusted ? is this right ! and is so how do I set it ?

never heard of that.

Remove old one, install new one. make sure wires are plugged in

IF there's an adjustment, it would be by loosening/rotating it while a volt meter is attached.

I swapped one over from a 3400 TB to a 85mm TB and there was no adjustment.

Yeah that what I heard as well only way to adjust it would be to turn it with a volt meter on it
but Im not going to worry about it I guess

They haven't been adjustable since around '88 on the 60°V6. The ones on our cars just self zero every time you turn it on.

so... i guess the answer is...

To set your TPS sensor:
1) Insert the proper key, into the ignition
2) Turn the car on
3) Drink Beer, and admire the job well done.

disconnect the battery, change the sensor, connect the battery back and start the car, the car will idle a little high for a second untill it learns the new sensor, and you are done.

Any sensor you replace from your car you want to have the computer relearn it so that the sensor can work properly, any sensor like , O2 sensor, IAT sensor, IAC sensor, EGR sensor, MAP sensor, crank sensor, tps sensor you want to disconnect the battery before you change any of them.

Well I went and got the mas air flow then installed right away I notice more power ( it is running alot better but still doing the hard shifting today Im going to get the TPS sensor maybe that well work !

When I put in the new MAF the car shifted really hard and in fact the motor statred to rev up past 3000 at 40 mph

Pulled over and turned the car off, wouldn't restart. Unpluged the MAF and it started and died, got it restarted and quickly plugged the MAF back in and it's been fine since.

Before I turned the car off and I shifted into reverse, I seruoisly thought the transmission fell out

So, Would D/C the Battery be a good idea if you wanted the car to re-learn after a new intake?

I had an Issue before with a Ractive Heatshield filter I installed, the Car tried to put in too much Gas compared to the new amount of air. Black smoke.

Any suggestions on that? Not to de-reail the topic or anything.
