right near the steering column. theres a large bunch of wires. if it's a small gauge u should be able to fit it in there, if not, just put a hole in it with a screw driver.

ok i just went and checked it out, is it the one with the rubber seal around it right at the top, cuz i tried and it just seems to go around the windsheild wiper motor under those vents. there is another one farther down but i can't seem to get to it.

go from the inside out, poke a hole in it, i think its a large clearish seal, poke a hole thru the side and fish it thru and pull it up thru the engine compartment

ok pullthe driver side sill off (held by clips goes up to the hood release) when thats off, look under the steering wheel and you'll see some black plates. pull those off and then peel the rug back. its in plain site if i remember properly. also when you look at it theres wires going through the middle of the plug, and if you cant squeeze the wire through, slice it open a little more. fish it through like a foot or so and then go under the hood and grab it. you might need some long, needle nose pliers since its behind the fusebox. grab the wire and run it to the battery, best hidden as possible. of course use you're inline fuse, which can be anywhere, usually next to the battery, but mines in my trunk, 3 inches from my amp. make sure to match the fuse rating to the one that on the amp. Also, make sure you have solid ground (sand off the paint until its metal) -that part is crucial. also mounting your amp on the back of your seat-saves room, looks good, hides wires, easy to install, easy to tune, and if the need comes, you can quickly remove your subs without removing the amp or all the wires each time. Also, with tuning the amp set it to 80 hz and start tuning the other settings to what sound good to you. Just some info to start ya off

There's a reason IASCA rules state 18" from the battery. In the event of the wire shorting out, the wire between the terminal and the fuse is unprotected - meaning if it's 3" from your amp and your amp is mounted to the back of the rear seat you could go fwooosh pretty quickly. The terminal -> fuse distance should be as short as possible.
Fuse rating is matched to the current draw the power wire will carry - you need to know the max current draw of the amp(s), which should be in the manual or you can contact the manufacturer.
Solid advice otherwise - just had to point out about fusing since it could quite possibly be a dangerous situation.
Cheers,
~vR

You should have a gray coloured bulkhead grommet in the firewall, to do it the best way (in my opinion of course), you can un-tape both sides, remove the little donut-shaped reinforcement thing from it on the inside and fish a new wire through then re-install and re-tape it up like original. Takes a few minutes longer but ensures no leaks.

I think I taped the wire to a pencil and pushed the pencil thru and pull it from the other side, and the wire came out.

worked for me. well i used a hanger instead... same difference
I'd recommend using the gormet who is taped on the inside next to the steering coloum. It's easier to untape that one and retape it again then the other one, which you have to untape and retape in the engine compartment. All I did to reseal it again was to wrap some ducktape round it... worked great!
