Drifting...
This is my first winter with a Car...
Generally can drifting in the snow hurt your car?
Minus hitting a man hole and what not...

Probably, I still do it anyway.

yes. since the snow hides stuff, its quite easy to hit curbs, a dry patch, cars, trees, old women...etc.
not good.
... but its SOO much fun to drift around corners... isn't it?
....i can't now w/ my new snow tires.. damn their efficiency! damn them!

^ Had a similar experience this Friday. I was driving home while it was raining, and the the traffic light turned yellow, so me thinking I wasn't going to make it, slammed the brakes. All I heard was like a 7 to 10 second screeching of my tires and I ended up stopping right where I was supposed to except for half the car ending up on the turning lane lol Luckily no one was in front of me. I am such a lucky lucky driver lol

Yes actually drifting is quite rough on the suspension system (as stated earlier: car aren't meant to go sideways)... This is why when you look at all of the professional drift cars you will see that more effort goes into the suspension than most anything else. Now obviously on slicker surfaces such as snow and ice it is not quite as damaging since it is more of a smooth surface so watch out for dry patches (and obstacles obviously)
But really who am I to talk since I grew up with old school muscle before drifting was even a sport and I've never hesitated to take any of my vehicles to any empty parking lot during winter lol
May try it with the Minivan this year

it might, but o well the only thing u might notice bad happen is if you hit something. i almost wrapped mine around a power pole the other day, rural road no houses no cars no people but there was poles. had to go against instict and turn the wheels toward that side of the road and hit the gas so my back end would come the other way and barely miss the pole. almost shat myself

Eh, snow drifting is just sliding around. I doubt it'll mess anything up since the tires arent gripping the ground and your not stressing out your bushings or any other suspension parts to much. But then again its those potholes that are gonna kill ya.

If you are gonna be ripping that e-brake, do it in a parking lot. Check out my thread on how to lower your car the free way... http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16164
Thats from like 5mph sidways into a curb. By far the dumbest and most costly crash I have ever had.
