Windows fog up *revised*

OK I posted this a while ago about the windows fogging up, but I don't think it's the Heater core.

Took the car to the mech and he said the HC isn't the problem, well isn't a problem at this point.

Here's the deal, The windows fog up when I get in the car on a cold day/night, but as soon as the car gets warm, turn the defroster on full blast to the windshield and it clears up, however the side windows stay fogged.

This it much worse when it rains. Tonight I was driving home and they fogged up, but it's dry (has been raining for the past 3 days though) and I see $1.99 for premium so I quik pull into the gas station and fill up.

Now when I got out of the car the sides where fogged up so bad, they looked like they were wet and the windshiled was like a wet butt imprint, but the cheeks was the clear part. As I'm filling up the car, flurries start to fall, get back in the car, windshield totally fogged up, blast the defrost, look down at something in the car, lok up and the windshield is totally clear And stayed that way the entire way home, side windows, soaked.

Now here's what I think is the problem. I have to replace that foam strip thingy that Aftermath has a how-to on. My interior pass side gets a little bit of water in it if we get like 4 or more inches of rain and the windshield seam at the top, is getting water inside. Also that black weatherstrip that runs down the wildshield between the door and the glass, looks to be bent at the top. I see a metal thing under it and it's bent and the strip is pushed upward. I think this is from the accident I had in 2006, the door was shifted a little bit in that direction, plus all this didn't happen before that accident.

If I open the window, everything clears up too, but right now it's 30*, you think I'm driving with the windows down when it's 10* outside? pfft, yeah right.

Whatdya think?

mine have done that since i got the car. i either get a foggy windshield, or foggy side windows. (depends on if its on front defrost, or side/floor defrost)

i always figured it was just a bad design, issue.

O OK.

Yeah the "both" function that you speak of is the defrost/floor switch.

I use both, after the windsheild is clear enough.

Didn't do it this morning, and it's snowing here

For the windshield, Ive used the rain X for fog on my other cars and it works pretty good. You just wipe it on to the interior of your windows, and voila. I dont know if it would damage your tints though.

Valley, i think it might damage tint, it smells like rubbing alcohol.

but i was just wondering, could tint have an effect on fog accumulation on the side windows?
