I have been wondering if it would be possible to set up your headlights so that the regular headlights would stay on when you flip your brights on. I don't know too much about electrical systems and whatnot but i would think that you would need a some sort of relay in order to set this up. If any one has any idea of how to go about doing such a thing, I'd like to know.

well if you really wanna do it temporarily, you can just by holding the bright lever half way.

my dads car does that, doesnt help with brightness at all

It can only be as bright as the brightest bulb, so it won't help your brightness any- you'll just go through bulbs faster, and in most states that's illegal anyway. I know for a fact that in PA and VA you can't disconnect DRL's or modify the factory position or function of your eadlamps- different bulbs or HID's are OK, but you can't change HOW they work.

Just a thought...
What about just tapping the positive wire going to the brights and running it over to the positive wire to the low-beams with a diode in-between? When the + wire for the brights gets energized, it would also energize the + wire for the low beams even after the headlamp relay shut them off. The diode would keep the brights from coming on with the low-beams so the brights would only be on when you pull the steering column stalk to turn them on.
You would have to probably disable the DRL's though. Otherwise the low beams would be on during the day with the DRL's, too.
Lots of work for illegal results without much of a benefit...IMO
Now I'm thinking that the extra power draw through the high-beam fuses would probably blow the fuse. And if you put a bigger fuse in there, it may just fry the wiring...not a good idea, I'd say.

that sounds like it might just work.
i have a 2003 though so i would not
have to disable the DRL's as the low
beams are my DRL's and not the high beams...
so.....if i find some time to play with it,
i'll post the results...
